Cete Terms of Use
Effective November 6, 2026
Cete helps you stay close to friends and family: share when you're free to talk, remember birthdays, and keep memories together in small private groups. These terms are the rules for using it. By creating an account or using Cete, you agree to them.
Be kind. There's zero tolerance for abuse
Cete is for people who care about each other. Don't use it to post, send or share:
- Harassment, bullying, threats or anything meant to frighten or hurt someone.
- Hate speech, or attacks on people for who they are.
- Sexual content, nudity, or anything that sexualizes children.
- Violence, self-harm encouragement, or illegal activity.
- Spam, scams, or pretending to be someone else.
- Other people's private information, or photos and recordings of them they wouldn't want shared.
If you see something like this, report it: tap ... on a memory, hold a comment and choose Report comment, or tap Report on a person's screen. We look at every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these rules, and we can suspend or delete the accounts of people who post it, without warning. You can also block anyone at any time.
Your account
- You need to be at least 13 years old to use Cete.
- Use your real name, so the people you know can recognize you.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens with your account.
- One person per account.
What you share
What you share is yours. You give Cete permission to store it and show it to the people you chose to share it with, so the app can work. Memories and comments you share in a group can be seen by everyone in that group, and memories can be exported by them. If you delete your account, you choose whether your memories and comments stay in your groups (shown as from "A former member") or are deleted.
Only share things you have the right to share.
Finding people
If you search your contacts, Cete only sends codes made from their phone numbers and emails, and doesn't keep them. You choose whether others can find you by your email or phone number, and whether you're suggested to friends of friends, in Profile > Privacy.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what Cete collects and why.
Cete as it is
Cete is free, made with care by a small team, and provided as it is. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Don't rely on it for emergencies. As far as the law allows, Cete isn't responsible for losses from using it, or for what other people share.
Ending
You can stop using Cete and delete your account at any time in Profile > Delete account. We can suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll ask you to agree to the new version in the app.
